Twilight Zone (2019) Easter Eggs

I found these Easter eggs in Season 1 of Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone. I’m sure there are more, but this is what I have so far.

Ugly Faces

Then: Two episodes of the original 1960s Twilight Zone featured “ugly” faces, Eye of the Beholder (S2, E6) and The Masks (S5, E25).

Now: From the recent Twilight Zone series, The Comedian (S1, E1) had similar “ugly” faces in the background painting of Eddies Comedy Club.

The Ventriloquist’s Doll

Then: A creepy doll named Willie manipulates his owners in both The Dummy (S3, E33) and Caesar and Me (S5, E28). I’m unsure about the name change from Willie to Caesar, but there must be a backstory.

Now: We see Willie, or Caesar, sitting backstage in The Comedian (S1, E1), and on gift wrap in A Traveler (S1, E4). I have a theory about this — Willie lives on through different owners, probably at Eddies Comedy Club, which, by the way, looks very similar to his original club many years ago. He seems famous now, since his wrapping paper made it all the way to Alaska.

A Monster in the Sky

Then: A nervous passenger tries to warn everyone about a monster on the airplane’s wing in Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (S5, E3). Thankfully the plane lands just in time.

Now: In Nightmare at 30,000 Feet (S1, E3), an airplane passenger receives warnings from an ominous podcast about their flight’s upcoming crash, and tries to warn everyone before the accident. Once the inevitable happens, a doll washes ashore, bearing resemblance to the original monster from Nightmare at 20,000 Feet.

That’s all I found so far, but I must have missed others. I don’t know about this one, but the number “1015” came up in both Nightmare at 30,000 Feet (S1, E2) and The Blue Scorpion (S1, E9). Does anyone have a guess?

I’m almost done with season 2. I’ll post some of those Easter eggs a bit later.
